Rules

Rules for the 2012 Rsenal Racing Mile High Desert Racing Series


The following rules are to be considered final by RMHDS management:
You may contact RMHDS at rmcustom@peoplepc.com or at 719-659-8020.

1. All protests of results or against other racers will be required to be in writing to RMHDS management one half hour or less after each race.

a. All results one half hour after each race will be final.

b. Awards will be given to the top 3 positions in each class. Classes with more then 25 entries or more will receive awards from 4th but to not exceed 10th place depending on entries for particular class.

2. RMHDS will not be held responsible for any damages to equipment or loss of personal property during one of our events.

3. RMHDS reserves the right to subject any vehicle to a mechanical inspection and will be done by the organizations tech inspector on site. In the event of an inspection the rider or owner of vehicle must comply with the tech inspector’s final decision. Failure to comply will result in a no show for that race and a possible suspension of future events held by RMHDS.

4. Year end awards: You must compete in at least 5 of the races during the year and be in the top 33% of your class.

5. We will not allow any engines to “spin” using electric start or be running until the green flag is waved. Electric starters will be allowed but they may not be used to spin the engine with the kill switch on until the green flag is waved.

a. Races that are “not” mass group starts will be allowed to “have” engines running when the green flag waves.

6. RULE INFRACTIONS/PENALTIES

These guidelines are not meant to infer that these are the only possible infractions or penalties that may be assessed against any entrant participating in a RMHDS event.

a. Race vehicle traveling on the racecourse in the wrong direction at any time: Disqualification.

b. Pit support vehicles traveling on the racecourse at any time: Disqualification.

c. Abusive conduct toward a race official: Disqualification, suspension, one hundred dollar ($100) fine or any combination of the three.

d. Short coursing: Disqualification or time penalty at the discretion of the race director.

e. Outside assistance anywhere other than in designated pit area: Disqualification.

f. Passing in the scoring chute: 2 Positions.

7. Everyone at an RMHDS event that rides an off road machine in the pit area or on the track MUST wear an approved helmet. NO EXCEPTIONS. Riders must register for the race before riding their machine anywhere ANYONE found riding in the pit area with bad regard of others or in a dangerous manner will immediately be disqualified from the race. All racers are responsible for their friends or pit crews to abide to this rule, as well as all others associated with their organization.

a. All pitting must be done in the designated pit area, no exceptions. Pit crew members are not allowed on the course. No rider is allowed to carry gasoline except inside his machine’s gasoline tank. No vehicle shall be towed, pushed, pulled or transported by any non-race-entered vehicle on the official course while an event is still in progress.

8. Only the vehicle occupant at the time of the breakdown may push the vehicle through the finish line. No other person or persons will be permitted to assist in pushing, pulling or towing the vehicle.

a. Any pit support vehicle running on or near the racecourse will result in the entrant being disqualified.

9. All pits must have the equivalent of a UL approved 20-lb. ABC fire extinguisher at all times; the extinguisher(s) must be manned during all pit stops.

10. All young children and pets must be kept out of the pit area. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. All campfires must be kept out of immediate pit area. Campfires ‘may not’ be permitted due to federal and state regulations.

11. All entrants are responsible for cleaning the pit areas they use during the event.

12. Any Pit crew members/racers disregarding these rules will subject their rider to disqualification.
